We are Barbara and Willy Krusi. We grew up and raised our 6 children in a small town in Switzerland, where we made our living by operating an organic dairy farm. In 1995 we moved to Wisconsin, USA and continued with organic dairy farming. In January of 1999 we settled in Alberta, Canada and became proud Canadian Citizens a few years later. Our oldest son and his family still live in Switzerland, while two sons reside in the USA. The rest of our family has settled in Alberta, where we now call home. We are also the proud grandparents of 5 grandchildren. We strongly believe that families are the foundation for our society!
Willy and I both grew up in big families. Having raised six children of our own, we love to be surrounded by lots of people. After all of our children moved out, we found ourselves lost in a big house. The idea of opening up a “Bed & Breakfast Vacation Home” was born! Our mission is to offer families and individuals an affordable, down-to-earth spot; where kids can be kids, parents can relax and reconnect, and individuals can enjoy country life. Our passion for family, helping others, cooking, baking, gardening, animals, and country life has developed into a dream and then a vision of becoming the hosts of “Krusi Retreat Bed & Breakfast Vacation Home”. In the Swiss – German tradition of “Familienanschluss”, we’d like to make all our guests to feel like they are part of the family. I am confident that Willy and I have what it takes to be the best hosts ever and to make your relaxing vacation a reality!
Professionally, I have achieved the following:
1978-79 College for Rural Home Economics and Agriculture/Domestic
1992 The Swiss Federation Diploma of Rural Home Economics. Signed by the Director of Federal Office for Industry, Trade and Labor
2000 Certificate of Health Care Assistant
2009 Diploma of Hotel/Restaurant Management
